Sustainability report translation for premium travel brand


The challenge

TUI Cruises operates in a highly regulated, global environment, requiring clear and consistent communication across a wide range of sustainability, governance and corporate reporting materials. The organisation produces extensive annual sustainability reports aligned to international standards, including GRI frameworks, covering environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics across land-based operations and maritime activities.

These outputs span multiple formats and audiences, including detailed narrative reports, structured data indexes and policy-driven content for both internal stakeholders and external public disclosure. The content is complex, technical and often highly regulated, with requirements for accuracy, consistency and compliance.

At the same time, tight reporting cycles, evolving regulatory frameworks such as CSRD, and the need to communicate clearly across languages create significant operational pressure. Delivering consistent messaging across interconnected sections – ranging from governance and HR strategy to environmental performance and reporting indice – demanded a coordinated approach to ensure progress made during the reporting year was translated accurately.

One consistent issue with reports is that they surface information that isn’t publicly known, so we had to scrutinize available internal resources and raise questions with the lead translator.


Our approach

The 2025 report built on the previous year’s achievements, so a lot was carried forward. Consequently, our work focused on translating and refreshing narrative report sections.

Work was delivered in Word based around core report chapters (e.g. company profile, social impact, governance), appendices and formal disclosures, ensuring consistency of terminology and messaging throughout.
